M.P. REPORTED OVER 5,000 HEAT STROKE CASES IN MAY 2024
Why in the news?
- States have been instructed to maintain digital records of heatstroke cases and deaths.
- Madhya Pradesh reported the highest number of cases in May with 5,204.
- Rajasthan (4,357), Andhra Pradesh (2,183), and Chhattisgarh (2,043) also reported high numbers.
- 80 deaths due to heatstroke, including both confirmed and suspected cases, were reported across the country in May.
