ISRO Successfully Launches Second Developmental Flight of SSLV-D2 from Sriharikota

News: The second SSLV-D2 development flight is successfully launched by ISRO from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The second developmental mission of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV-D2) was successfully launched by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on February 10, 2023, in the morning. At 9.18 am, the launch was carried out.

  • Earth observation satellite Janus-1, AzaadiSAT-2 from Chennai-based SpaceKidz, and Earth observation satellite SSLV-D2 were all successfully launched into their planned orbits. The Satish Dhawan Space Centre’s first launch pad served as the launch platform for the 120-ton, 34-meter-tall SSLV-D2. In addition to a velocity trimming module driven by liquid fuel for precise satellite injection, the three-stage SSLV-D2 was also fueled by solid fuel.
  • The exact positioning of the satellites in their intended planar orbit made the SSLV-D2 flight successful, according to AIR correspondent reports.
  • As the SSLV raced into the foggy sky, scientists and invited guests gathered at ISRO to witness the event were in a joyful mood. During the rocket’s three-stage separation, anxious periods predominated. The EO-SAT-07 Earth Observation Satellite
  • The SSLV is intended to be a ready-to-transfer rocket with unified, modular systems and industry-standard interfaces for manufacturing. Low cost, quick turnaround, and flexibility are the main design criteria for the SSLV.
