INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE-CUM-EXHIBITION ON ‘AEROSPACE & AVIATION IN 2047’

Why in the news?

  • The Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) is hosting an International Conference-cum-Exhibition on ‘Aerospace & Aviation in 2047’ in New Delhi on November 18 & 19, 2023.
  • President Smt Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the Conference-cum-Exhibition, marking the 75th anniversary of AeSI.

Inaugural Session Highlights

  • The inaugural session will witness the release of a Compendium on 75 years of aerospace & aviation in India and Vision Document 2047.
  • Focus on India’s aerospace journey, highlighting achievements, technological advancements, and visionary contributions.
  • Exhibition featuring 200 industries and MSMEs, including 75+ start-ups, showcasing indigenous capabilities.

Start-up Challenge:

  • A start-up challenge involving participants from across the country.
  • Finalists present innovative ideas, products, and visions for India’s aerospace growth by 2047.
Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI)

·        Established in 1948, the Aeronautical Society of India was inaugurated by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India, on 17 November 1948.

·  Year 2023 marks 75th Anniversary of Aeronautical Society of India.

Objectives:

·  Dedicated to advancing and disseminating knowledge in aeronautical sciences and aircraft engineering.

·  Aims to elevate the aeronautical profession by fostering expertise in the field.

Organization:

·  Grown into a prominent professional body in aeronautics, aviation, and aerospace.

·  Boasts 19 branches across key aviation centers in India.

·  Membership exceeds 14,000, including major establishments like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and defense research entities.

 

The Aeronautical Society of India is the only forum in the country that provides intense interaction between professionals from all facets of civil and military aviation as well as the manufacturing/training/maintenance agencies.
