India’s First Hybrid Rocket
News: Private players launched India’s first hybrid-sounding rocket from Pattipulam in Tamil Nadu.
- The Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Satellite Launch Vehicle Mission- 2023 was launched by the Martin Foundation in collaboration with the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation and Space Zone India.
- The chosen students designed and built 150 PICO satellite research experiment cubes with various payloads, as well as a student satellite launch mechanism (rocket).
- The best 100 students were chosen, and they created the reusable rocket while the other students created the satellites.
- The rocket can be used for radiation, weather, and atmospheric research.
- A hybrid rocket engine is used to propel the flight of a hybrid sounding rocket.
