  • World Homoeopathy Day is observed annually on April 10, marking the birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy.
  • Homoeopathy is the world’s second-largest medical system, based on the principle of “like cures like.”
  • In 2025, India hosted its largest homoeopathy symposium in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, highlighting research, innovation, and global collaboration.

  • Over 100 million Indians rely on homoeopathy, which is widely recognized for its safe and gentle healing approach.

Strengthening Infrastructure and Regulation:

  • India has a robust homoeopathy network:
    • 45 lakh+ registered doctors
    • 277 hospitals, 8,593 dispensaries, and 8,697 beds
    • 277 educational institutions with 7,092 faculty members
  • 384 pharmaceutical industries ensure quality production of homoeopathic medicines.
  • 1,117 pharmacopoeial monographs guide safe medicine preparation.
  • The Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) operates 35+ research centres and OPDs across India.
  • 28 State Councils and Boards regulate ethical standards and doctor registration.

Modern Reforms and Regulatory Framework :

●      The Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973 was replaced by the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) Act, 2020 to reform and modernize the sector.

●      NCH ensures transparent education, ethical practice, and evidence-based research.

●      PCIM&H maintains drug quality and pharmacopoeias for standardization.

●      CCRH promotes scientific validation and innovation in homoeopathy.

●      These bodies together uphold India’s leadership in advancing global homoeopathic healthcare.
