The 2024 Chief Science Advisers’ Roundtable, co-organized by India and UNESCO, will convene in Paris on 6 September 2024, focusing on open science, knowledge asymmetry, and global science advice capacity.

About 2024 Chief Science Advisers’ Roundtable at UNESCO Headquarters:

  • The 2024 Edition of the Chief Science Advisers’ Roundtable (CSAR) will be held on 6 September 2024 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France.
  • The event is co-organized by the Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Indian Government and UNESCO’s Natural Sciences Sector.

Participants and Theme of CSAR 2024:

  • Delegations from 28 countries, led by their Chief Science Advisers or equivalents, along with representatives from six international organisations, will participate.
  • The discussions will focus on the theme “Fostering open science, bridging knowledge asymmetry, and building science advice capacity globally.”
  • The roundtable will be co-chaired by Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, and Dr. Lidia Brito, Assistant Director General (Natural Sciences) of UNESCO.
