About the IAF Emergency Landing Drills in Kashmir:
- Indian Air Force (IAF) jets will conduct emergency landing drills on a strip of road in south Kashmir’s Bijbehara.
- The drills aim to practise using highways as alternative runways during emergencies.
- Scheduled to commence from Monday night, Sukhoi fighters and Tejas light combat aircraft will participate.
- This marks the first such drill conducted in the Valley, utilising a 3.5 km stretch of the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Bijbehara.
