  • In New Delhi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will launch the year-long national campaign Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.

About the Campaign

  • According to the Ministry of Law and Justice, the campaign’s objectives are to celebrate the common values that unite the country and to reaffirm our shared commitment to the values found in the Indian Constitution;
  • This national campaign aims to foster a sense of pride and accountability to preserve the principles set forth in the constitution;
  • Additionally, it will enable every citizen to take part in a variety of ways and make a significant contribution to the democratic process.
  • The Campaign will address a number of themes, such as Vidhi Jagriti Abhiyan, Nav Bharat Nav Sankalp, and Sabko Nyay-Har Ghar Nyaya;
  • Nyaya Setu: It is an important and revolutionary initiative that attempts to increase the reach of legal services to the last mile, will be introduced during the event. A more inclusive and just society will be made possible by the unified legal interface it will provide for legal information, legal counsel, and legal assistance;
  • DISHA Scheme: The “Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice” DISHA scheme achievement booklet will also be released during the event and it will showcase how the use of the Tele-Law Citizens Mobile App and the 2.5 lakh Common Service Centers spread across 36 States and Union Territories and how the Tele Law Programme has connected more than 67 lakh citizens for pre-litigation advice under this scheme.

 Themes of the Campaign vision

Sabko Nyay-Har Ghar Nyaya:

  • It aims to connect villagers with Village Level Entrepreneurs of Common Service Centers and encourage them to read the Sabko Nyay pledge;
  • Throughout aspirational blocks and districts, Nyaya Sahayaks will lead the charge in raising public awareness of the various citizen-centric legal services available right at their doorstep;
  • Nyaya Seva Mela would be held at the State and UT levels, providing forums for people to seek advice, information, and assistance on a range of legal issues as well as other government services and initiatives.

Nav Bharat Nav Sankalp:

  • It reads the Panch Pran Pledge in an attempt to get people to adopt Panch Pran’s resolutions;
  • Through their participation in Panch Pran Anubhav (a competition for creating a reel or video) and Panch Pran Rangotsav (a poster-making competition), the citizens would have the chance to display their artistic ability and inventiveness;
  • Additionally, there will be an engaging opportunity for citizens to test their constitutional knowledge;
  • The My Gov platform would serve as the venue for the events.

Vijay Jagriti Abhiyan:

  • It is a Pro Bono Club initiative, seeks to engage students in spreading the word about Panch Pran in the villages that law schools have adopted;
  • Its goal is to spread legal knowledge about rights, obligations, and entitlements in a way that is memorable, entertaining, and highly engaging;
  • Through programmes like Gram Vidhi Chetna, Vanchit Varg Samman, and Nari Bhagidari, it also seeks to engage the weaker segments of society.

About DISHA Scheme

  • The purpose of its launch was to offer a comprehensive, integrated, holistic, and systemic approach to justice access on a pan-Indian scale.
  • It seeks to provide “Justice” to the Indian people as defined by the Preamble and by Articles 39A, 14 and 21 of the Indian Constitution.
  • It seeks to create and coordinate a number of projects to deliver legal services with a focus on the needs of citizens.
  • The various components under it are:
    • Telelaw ‘Connecting with the Unreached’: Through the use of video and teleconferencing facilities available at the Common Service Centers (CSCs) and the Tele-Law Mobile App, the Tele-Law Service connects the citizen with the Panel lawyers to strengthen pre-litigation legal advice and consultation.
    • The Nyaya Bandhu Initiative: The goal of the Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services) program is to give the underprivileged access to free legal advice and assistance. For Android and iOS smartphones, the Nyaya Bandhu mobile application has been created to facilitate the connection between registered applicants and Pro Bono Advocates.
    • Programs for Legal Awareness: Established under the Legal Services Authorities, Act, 1987, the Legal Service Institutions network operates at the national, state, district, and taluk levels to offer a more comprehensive framework.
    • Information Education and Communication (IEC): A specific Information IEC component which is a technology component, has been integrated into DISHA to guarantee its expanded reach.
