AFSPA extension in parts of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh for six months, aiming to maintain security and combat insurgency.
About the Extension Details:
- The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) prolonged the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) in parts of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh for six months.
- In Nagaland, AFSPA is extended across eight districts and 21 police stations, effective from April 1 unless withdrawn earlier.
- In Arunachal Pradesh, AFSPA continues in three districts and areas under three police stations in Namsai district.
