GOBARDHAN Scheme:
News: The Unified Registration Portal for GOBARdhan has been inaugurated by Union Minister for Jal Shakti.
GOBARdhan Programme:
The Government of India’s Galvanising Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan programme is a key overarching project.
In 2018 the Gobardhan initiative was introduced by the government as a national priority project under the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen-Phase II plan.
Goal: To produce biogas, CBG, and biofertilizers from animal manure, crop waste, and other organic waste in order to produce wealth and energy.
It uses a whole-of-government strategy and seeks to generate wealth out of trash in order to advance the circular economy.
The Ministry of Jal Shakti’s Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation serves as the nodal ministry.
A centralised database known as the Unified Registration Portal will be used to evaluate investments and involvement in the Biogas/CBG (Compressed Biogas) sector throughout all of India.
The main goal is to speed up the nation’s CBG/Biogas plant construction process.
A registration number can be obtained by enrolling in the Unified Registration Portal by any government, cooperative, or private entity running or planning to establish a Biogas/CBG/Bio-CNG plant in India.
