The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) launched Global One-Stop Centres in nine locations worldwide to provide Indian women with shelter, legal aid, medical assistance, and counselling, reflecting India’s commitment to safeguarding its diaspora.
Introduction to Global One-Stop Centres (OSCs):
- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has initiated Global One-Stop Centres to support vulnerable Indian women abroad.
- Out of nine planned OSCs, seven with shelter facilities will be located in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, UAE (Jeddah and Riyadh), and Saudi Arabia.
- Two centres in Toronto and Singapore will operate without shelters.
