About FlashFloods:

1)  Flash floods are brief, powerful floods that happen quickly, usually within hours following a lot of rain or other intense water accumulation events.

2)  The National Weather Service, the US meteorological organization, states that flash floods occur when rainfall results in flooding in less than six hours.

3)  They are typified by an abrupt and sudden rise in river, stream, or urban area water levels, frequently without any prior notice.
