First Global Tourism Investors’ Summit in April as part of G-20 presidency

 

News: The first Global Tourism Investors Summit will be held from April 10 to 12, 2023, in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, as part of India’s G-20 presidency. The event will bring together international businesses, thought leaders, and policymakers to understand and explore tourism business opportunities in India.

 

  • Before the roadshow that the Ministry of Tourism was planning for the Northern region on January 17, 2023 at the CII Northern Region Office, Arun Srivastava, Deputy Director General, Publicity, gave the information. He emphasised that under the center’s year-long chairmanship, the G20 will be its primary focus in promoting India as a significant travel destination.
  • He added that the 1st Global Tourism Investors Summit will serve as a platform to present investable opportunities to potential domestic and international investors. The Ministry of Tourism is collaborating with Central Ministries and State Governments on the event.
  • At the roadshow, Srivastava represented the Ministry of Tourism. It was organised and planned to increase awareness of the Global Tourism Investors’ Summit
  • The purpose of the event was to promote India as a travel, tourist, and hospitality investment destination by highlighting state-specific investment opportunities and discussing ways to encourage sustainable tourism.
  • A brief overview of special fiscal and non-fiscal incentives in the tourism and hospitality sector as well as recent investment-related success stories were provided by the State Officials in addition to a presentation on recent major policy initiatives by their Tourism/Industries Department to improve ease of doing business.
  • State government representatives from Chandigarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir attended the roadshow in Chandigarh, which had over 100 registrations, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
