About Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014

Formation of Telangana

  • Created the new state of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.
  • Telangana officially came into existence on June 2, 2014.

Proposed Common Capital

  • Hyderabad designated as the common capital for both states for ten years.
  • During this period, Telangana required to establish a new capital city.( Established Capital : Amravati in 2024)
