  • Objective: Provide safe drinking water to all rural households via tap connections by 2024.
  • Approach: Community-focused with extensive IEC activities.
  • Nodal Ministry: Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
  • Infrastructure: Includes rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and wastewater reuse for agriculture.
  • Funding: 50:50 Centre-State share, 90:10 for Himalayan/North-Eastern States, 100% for Union Territories.
