Features of NGT:

NGT mainly handles cases with regard to corporations and companies that violate the environmental clearances and construction is done without it. New orders from NGT related to violations have been implemented by Ministry of Environment. These new norms are as follows:

1) Identification of cases and reporting- There was an ambiguity on how to file the cases. But now it has been cleared.

2) Temporary actions to be taken till the violations are cleared

3) Altering the penalties for new violations.

Conclusion:

The new norms are put forward so that there are less ambiguity in the cases. Previous violations are also considered and the penalties will be proportionately altered. The central idea of NGT is to provide a fast-track case disposal system in order to fasten the processes related to environmental violations and giving them necessary clearances.
