Silvopasture Systems:

News: Silvopasture systems present a pertinent remedy to deforestation trends in view of the worldwide degradation of natural resources and forests.

A long-established method known as the silvopasture system successfully combines trees, forage, and cattle on the same piece of land. With the help of this technology, animals can dwell in an environment that is comfortable in terms of temperature and wind extremes.

While maintaining or improving production, the trees on silvopasture grounds serve as natural carbon sinks, capturing five to ten times more carbon than pastures without trees. Trees in silvopasture plots have extensive root systems that support better soil stability and quality, nitrogen cycling, and erosion control.

Additionally, silvopasture, a system that coexists trees and animals on the same piece of land, can be extremely effective in reversing the unfavorable trend of deforestation for pasture land. Additionally, it controls the local climate, protecting cattle from harsh weather conditions like temperature swings and strong winds.

Silvopasture systems have higher rates of soil infiltration than open pastures, which increases their capacity for water storage.

PESA Draft Rules : Jharkhand

News: In order to implement PESA in the state, the Jharkhand government has published draught regulations for public comment.

For tribal tribes living in Scheduled Areas, the Provisions of the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, also known as PESA, is essential in providing self-governance and empowerment.

PESA, passed in 1996, intends to provide Scheduled Areas’ indigenous tribes more control over their own systems of self-governance. It gives them a foundation on which to self-govern by acknowledging their historical rights to natural resources.

Eight standing committees must function under the gramme sabhas in accordance with the draught rules, which mandate equitable representation and inclusivity.

The Education and Social Justice Committee will aim to improve the economic standing of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other weaker groups, such as tribes with specific needs and non-modern tribes.

In the gramme sabhas, the draught rules place a strong emphasis on gender and ethnic representation. Gramme Sabhas must have at least 50% female members in order to encourage women’s participation in decision-making.

In order to ensure proper representation and engagement of tribal communities, at least 40% of the members must be from Scheduled Tribe (ST) tribes.

UPITER-3 : Private Satellite To Space

News: On July 27, SpaceX, under the direction of entrepreneurial visionary Elon Musk, plans to launch the largest private satellite ever into orbit.

With its remarkable size and cutting-edge technology, the satellite, known as JUPITER-3 and created by Maxar Technologies, represents a breakthrough in the field of communications satellites.

The triple-booster Falcon Heavy rocket from SpaceX will launch the JUPITER-3 satellite into orbit. Since its first flight in 2018, the Falcon Heavy has attracted much attention, and this impending launch will mark its eighth mission.

In the aerospace sector, the rocket has established itself as a dependable workhorse. The biggest commercial communications satellite ever built, JUPITER-3 is not just any old spacecraft.

This satellite, created by Maxar Technologies in Palo Alto, California, represents a significant advancement in satellite technology. JUPITER-3’s main objective is to add 500 Gbps to Maxar Technologies’ satellite fleet, doubling its capacity.

The organization will be able to better service consumers thanks to this significant boost in capacity, especially in areas like remote locations where cable and fibre access is not available or unstable.

Various communication requirements will be met by the JUPITER-3 satellite. It can be used for backhaul for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), enterprise networks, maritime connections, community Wi-Fi solutions across North and South America, and in-flight Wi-Fi.
