About Ayushman Bharat- PMJAY:

  • PM-JAY, launched in 2018, is the world’s largest government-funded health insurance scheme.
  • It provides financial assistance of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
  • This includes coverage for surgeries, medical and daycare treatments, along with medications and diagnostics.
  • This entitlement-based scheme targets low-income families identified through the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.
