  • A unique 14-digit number for storing and managing your health records electronically.
  • Secure and Consent-based: Individuals control their health data and choose who can access it.
  • Unified Health Platform: Stores all your health records (lab reports, prescriptions etc.) in one place.
  • Enhanced Care Coordination: Connects hospitals throughout India for better data sharing and continuity of care.
About Ayushman Bharat- PMJAY:

  • PM-JAY, launched in 2018, is the world’s largest government-funded health insurance scheme.
  • It provides financial assistance of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
  • This includes coverage for surgeries, medical and daycare treatments, along with medications and diagnostics.
  • This entitlement-based scheme targets low-income families identified through the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.
  • The National Health Authority (NHA) is the autonomous agency responsible for PM-JAY’s implementation in collaboration with state governments.
