Cabinet Launches Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan

Key Goals of the Mission:

  • Enabling Infrastructure:
    • Pucca houses for eligible tribal households, along with access to tapped water, electricity, and Ayushman Bharat cards.
    • Focus on village infrastructure, ensuring road connectivity, mobile network, and access to health, education, and nutrition facilities.
  • Economic Empowerment:
    • Skill development programs for ST youth and entrepreneurship promotion through skill training and agriculture support.
    • Marketing support for tribal products through Tribal Multipurpose Marketing Centres.
  • Universal Education and Health:
    • Increase school and higher education enrolment for ST students and set up tribal hostels.
    • Provide mobile medical units in remote tribal areas to enhance access to healthcare.

Monitoring and Implementation

  • The program involves 17 ministries and focuses on convergence across government schemes.
  • Progress will be tracked using the PM Gati Shakti Portal, with the best-performing districts
