Blood Donation & Free Medical Camp

It was the morning of 16th January when the students of Universal Group of Institutions were all geared up for the Blood donation and free medical camp being organized by the Indian Youth Red Cross Wing of Universal School of Administration, NSS and NCC of the institution which was open for the public and students alike so that they could benefit out of it. The event commenced at 9:00 AM, the inauguration was done in the presence of Dr Saraswathi Kumbale – Principal of Universal School of Administration, Mr Vishwas Puttaswamy- Principal of Universal School of Law, Dr Keshava Neera- Principal of Competitive Exam Wing and Mr Santhosh Shetty J- The Administrator of Universal Group of Institutions with the doctors of Sparsh Hospital, Narayana Health, Narayana Netralaya and Rajarajeshwari Dental College Hospital being present.

The event was hosted by Arifa GM of 5th sem BA, the invocation song was rendered by Raghu Rajkumar of 1st Sem BA, this was followed by the welcome speech delivered by Md Ajeej of 5th Sem BA after which the auspicious lamp was lit by the Doctors, Principals and Student Coordinators. The collective address was presented by Sripriya of 5th Sem B.Com which was then followed by a brief speech by the doctors of all the above stated hospitals in which they thanked the institution for organizing and giving them a chance to be a part of this program after which The Principals and The Administrator spoke about the history and importance of such camps whilst also highlighting the future plans of such camps in such campus. The vote of thanks was delivered by Pandurang Gireesh of 1st Sem BA LLB in which each hospital’s doctors were presented with a memento after which the National Anthem was played.

This was followed by the specialized set of doctors (Paediatrician, Gynaecologist, ECG, Orthopedist, Eye specialist, Dentist and General Check-up-BP, Sugar, etc) with their teams who dispersed to their allotted rooms. The blood donation camp which was the highlight of the event was commenced by the donation of blood by the management of the institution which gave inspiration to the students present, the students also got a general overview of the importance of blood donation and the easiness of it, they also saw the importance of a general health check-up. The event was coordinated by Mr Manoj Kumar BR- Asst Prof of Economics and Dr. Ramakrishna- Asst Prof of Kannada. The event was supervised by Muniruddin Quereshi Student Head of Indian Youth Red Cross Wing (IYRCW), Pearl Rebelo- Student Coordinator of IYRCW, Thanushree Gowda- Communication Head of IYRCW and Nishad K- Accountant of IYRCW. Under the guidance of the coordinators and supervisors all the volunteers of IYRCW, NSS and NCC made sure that the event went smoothly without any hiccups with the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
