A SUPERCOMPUTER AND THE AI IN AIIMS
Why in the news?
Researchers at AIIMS Delhi developed an AI system, iOncology AI, utilising a supercomputer in Pune and a server called Charak I at the National Cancer Institute campus in Jhajjar to assist oncologists in identifying optimal cancer therapies.
About Functionality of Oncology AI:
- Analyzes genetic mutations in cancer patients.
- Recommends tailored treatment options by cross-referencing data.
- Aims to sequence genomes of 3,000 cancer patients.
- Understands correlation between genetic makeup and treatment efficacy.
- Stores patient data for treatment decision-making.
