ORGANIC FARMING
Organic farming is a technique, which involves the cultivation of plants in natural ways. This process involves the use of biological materials, avoiding synthetic substances to maintain soil fertility and ecological balance. Organic farming uses fewer pesticides, reduces soil erosion, decreases nitrate leaching into groundwater and surface water, and recycles animal wastes back into the farm. It boosts biodiversity, which enhances productivity and resilience and contributes to a healthy farming system. Our NSS students prepared JEEVAMRUTHA, a Nozzel Well for rainwater harvesting on the campus.
PLASTIC FREE CAMPUS
Plastic-Free Campus (PFC) is dedicated for helping Schools or Colleges fight single-use plastic pollution worldwide. PFC helps colleges make a difference for the environment and our own health. Our Campus is turned into a plastic-free area by throwing away the plastic wastes seen on the campus.
NSS students were made aware of their duties towards Environmental Protection through Natural Farming, Groundwater Conservation, Rainwater Harvesting, Bhungroo – a water harvesting technique that uses an injection module to store excess rainwater underground, Preparation of JEEVAMRUTHA, Reconstruction of the Nozzle well and by planting the saplings.
