Aero India 2025 Showcases Fighter Jets & U.S. Bomber
Why in the news?
Aero India 2025 opened its gates to the public after three days of high-level meetings and agreements. The event featured aerial displays from various aircraft, including India’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team and the U.S. Air Force’s B-1B Lancer bomber.
Public Display Begins:
- After three days of ministerial meetings, conclaves, and defense agreements, the gates of the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru were opened to the public.
- Various aircraft, including the Light Utility Helicopter, Su-30 MKI, F-16, Hansa, HTT-40, JT, FBT, and LCA Mk-1A, participated in the aerial displays.
- The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team performed spectacular maneuvers, impressing spectators with their precision flying.
B-1B Lancer Makes Its Debut
- The S. Air Force’s B-1B Lancer, also known as “Bone”, made its first-ever appearance at Aero India 2025.
- The heavy bomber, capable of carrying the largest conventional payload of guided and unguided weapons, landed in Bengaluru on February 11.
- It performed multiple flypasts, capturing the attention of thousands at the venue.
Thrilling Aerial Displays
- The Russian Su-57E fifth-generation fighter jet emerged as a showstopper, with pilot Sergey Bogdan executing complex aerial maneuvers.
- The event concluded with another breathtaking performance by the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, showcasing loops, barrel rolls, inverted flying, and the crowd-favorite DNA maneuver.
