BIHAR POLICE WELCOMES TRANSGENDER SUB-INSPECTORS

Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules, 2020:

  • Enacted under the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019, these rules aim to uphold the rights of transgender individuals.

 Key Provisions:

National Council for Transgender Persons (NCTP):

  • Monitors Act implementation, advises the government, and promotes transgender rights awareness.
  • Focuses on livelihood, social acceptance, and forming state transgender welfare boards.
  • Ensures essential needs (housing, food, healthcare, education) are met for transgender individuals to achieve social justice and inclusion in society.
