About Agni Prime (Agni-P):

  • Design and Composition: Two-stage canisterized solid propellant ballistic missile with redundant dual navigation and guiding systems.
  • Range Capability: Canisterized surface-to-surface missile with a range capability of 1,000–2,000 km.
  • Development Background: Upgraded version developed under the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) to replace Agni-I and Agni-II missiles.
  • Series Position: Sixth ballistic missile in the Agni series.
  • Operational Tests: Three successful missile development tests followed by Tri-Services Strategic Forces Command’s first pre-induction night launch, validating precision and reliability.
