About the Enhanced Connectivity and Development:

  • Denwa Meyor and Kunchok Dolma Meyor, residents of Kibithoo village in Arunachal Pradesh near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), express the need for better education facilities.
  • The government’s Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) has initiated upgrades in Kibithoo, including renovations of the Primary Health Centre and residences of school teachers, along with the construction of concrete tracks.
  • The Army, under Operation Sadbhavna, collaborated with the Pune-based Aseem Foundation to establish Kibithu Bakery, providing employment opportunities to local women.
About  Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP):

●  Centrally sponsored scheme announced in Union Budget 2022-23 for developing villages on the northern border.

●  Covers border areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Ladakh.

●  Targets 2,963 villages, with 663 in the first phase.

●  District administrations, aided by Gram Panchayats, will formulate Vibrant Village Action Plans.

●  Designed to enhance the quality of life in identified border villages, distinct from the Border Area Development Programme.
