Understanding the China’s Asserted Claim:

  • China persists in claiming Arunachal Pradesh as its territory, despite India’s rejection of the claim as “absurd” and “ludicrous.”
  • Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian reiterated the claim on March 25, responding to India’s dismissal of China’s assertions.
  • Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar labelled China’s claims as “ludicrous” during a lecture at the Institute of South Asian Studies, affirming Arunachal Pradesh as an integral part of India.
