About Liberalised Transfer Conditions:

  • The Centre has introduced the Captive Elephant (Transfer or Transport) Rules, 2024, easing the regulations for transferring elephants within or between states.
  • Conditions allowing transfer include when the owner can no longer maintain the elephant or when better upkeep is likely elsewhere.
