Why in the news?

  • India’s indigenous fifth-gen fighter jet AMCA, a Rs 15,000 crore project, aims to enhance defence capabilities and bolster national security.

Key Features of AMCA:

About LCA(Light combat Aircraft):

●      ADA established in 1984 to manage the program, with HAL as the principal partner and involvement of DRDO & CSIR Labs.

About Tejas Aircraft:

●      India’s first domestically designed and produced light fighter aircraft.
