About New Alliance Formation:

  •  Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda reshuffled the Cabinet.
  • The move came after ending a 15-month alliance with the Nepali Congress due to leadership differences.
  • Prachanda formed a new alliance with the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML).
About Communist political party in Nepal (CPN):

  • ●   CPN (UML): Communist political party in Nepal.

●   Emerged post-Panchayat era.

●   Formed in January 1991.

●   Merger of CPN (Marxist) and CPN (Marxist–Leninist).

●   Membership: 855,000 in December 2021, later dropped to 550,000 in October 2023.
