Pran-Pratistha, Ayodhya and the Various Events

  • About the ceremony:
    • The consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol, known as Pran Pratishtha, will commence at the Saryu embankment with Vishnu Puja and gau daan;
    • Today i.e. on 22nd January, 2024 at around noon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ramlalla at the newly constructed Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.
  • Members from everywhere:
    • Members of every significant spiritual and religious group in the nation will be present at the historic Pran Pratishtha ceremony;
    • Attendees at the ceremony will come from all walks of life, including representatives of several tribal communities;
    • The city of Ayodhya, which has been beautifully decorated and turned saffron for this occasion, has already welcomed thousands of Ram devotees. In Ayodhya, the sounds of Ramdhan Jai Sitaram and the rhymes of Ramayana and Ramcharity echo all night long.
  • PM led other events:
    • PM is scheduled to meet with Shramjeevis, who is involved in building the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir;
    • He will also go to Kuber Tila, where Bhagwan Shiv’s ancient Mandir has been restored and at this renovated temple where he will conduct Pooja and Darshan.
  • Auspicious beginning:
    • Paush Shukla Dwadashi Vikram Samvat 2080 Abhijeet Muhurat begins at 12:20 p.m and this is the moment that crores of Ram bhakts around the world have been waiting for centuries;
    • PM will attend the consecration ceremony of the idol of Shri Ram Lalla today at 12:20 pm, which is being led by renowned scholar Laxmikant Dixit and overseen by Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid of Kashi.
  • Security Measures:
    • Ayodhya is equipped with multi-level security measures, and thousands of security personnel, such as the Anti-Terrorism Squad, Water Police, Paramilitary Force, Artificial Intelligence, and Drone Camera, are monitoring every possible angle;
    • At the airport, extra security measures are being implemented and the borders are sealed. Ayodhya is expected to be reached in a short while by a large number of distinguished guests who traveled to Lucknow last night to attend the Pran Pratistha ceremony.
  • PM’s views on Pran-Pratisthan:
    • The consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is a “historic moment” that will enhance Indian heritage and culture and propel the nation’s development to unprecedented heights. Preceding the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ at the Ram temple, the Prime Minister replied to a two-page letter written by President Droupadi Murmu;
    • PM also thanked the President for her well wishes on the auspicious occasion of Ram Lalla’s consecration in Ayodhya Dham.
Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s layout

●     The temple has three floors that are each 20 feet high, with a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors;

●     The construction uses pink sandstone, colored marble, and granite stone in addition to Makrana marble;

●     The temple’s foundation is 14 metres thick and made of roller-compacted concrete. Additionally, a granite plinth that is 21 feet high has been installed to guard against ground moisture; NOTE: Iron and steel has not been uses in the entire construction of the Shree Ram Lalla Mandir.

●     The temple features Mandaps (halls), Mandirs, and Sanctum Sanctorum (garbhagriha) in a Nagara architectural style.

●     A shrine honoring Surya, Bhagwati, Ganesh, and Shiv will be located at each corner of the compound. There will be temples dedicated to Hanuman and Annapurna on the southern and northern arms, respectively.

●     Other proposed temples are dedicated to Shabri, Nishad Raj, Agastya, Vashishtha, Vishwamitra, and Maharshi Valmiki.

●     About the Nagara Style architecture: This style, which originated in North India during the Gupta era in the fifth century AD, is well-liked throughout Northern, Western, and Eastern India (aside from the Bengal region), particularly in the areas surrounding Malwa, Rajputana, and Kalinga.
