World Environment Day 2023

News: Every year on June 5, the world celebrates World Environment Day.

Since 1973, the United Nations Environment Programme has celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June to raise awareness of the need to protect life on Earth.

Since the event’s inauguration in 1973, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has served as its coordinator.

Under the hashtag #BeatPlasticPollution, the focus of this year’s World Environment Day will be on plastic pollution solutions.

Together with the Netherlands, Côte d’Ivoire is hosting the tournament this year.

The organization’s mission is to empower people and nations to improve their quality of life without compromising that of present or future generations.

By focusing on the underlying causes of the triple global catastrophe of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution, it is causing transformative change.

Kenya’s capital city is Nairobi.
