Dal Lake : Thousand Of fish Died
News: Authorities have been blaming a sharp temperature change in the area for the recent deaths of thousands of fish in Dal Lake.
A lake can be found in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu & Kashmir during the summer.
The Pir Panjal mountains encircle it.
It is known as the “Jewel in the crown of Kashmir” or “Srinagar’s Jewel” and is essential to Kashmiri tourism and leisure.
It is the second-largest lake in Jammu & Kashmir, with an area of roughly 26 square kilometres.
The lake’s 15.5 km (9.6 mi) of shoreline is surrounded by a boulevard lined with houses on boats, gardens, and parks from the Mughal era.
Sometimes during the winter, the temperature drops below 11 °C (12 °F), which is below freezing.
With its floating gardens, the lake is a part of a natural wetland that is 21.1 square kilometres (8.1 square miles) in size.
During the months of July and August, the floating gardens, or “Raad” in Kashmiri, bloom with lotus flowers.
