India’s First Bauxite Certified Reference Material
News: According to Section 37 of the Biological Diversity Act of 2002, the State Government may designate areas of biodiversity significance as Biodiversity Heritage Sites after consulting with local organisations.
In India, there are 36 biodiverse heritage sites.
The first Bauxite Certified Reference Material (CRM) in India has been created by Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) and National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), and is known as BARC B1201.
The current CRM is the sixth of its kind in existence.
A standardised sample of bauxite that has been verified to have a known and consistent composition is known as a Bauxite verified Reference Material (CRM).
In routine analyses of bauxite, CRMs are employed as calibration standards for analytical techniques, tool performance assessment, and data quality control.
CRM use enables inter-laboratory communication and guarantees the accuracy and dependability of analytical results.
