Integrated Mobile Camouflage Systems

News: The Indian Army has placed its first order with an Indian start-up company called Hyper Stealth Technologies Private Limited for Integrated Mobile Camouflage Systems (IMCS) for Mechanized Forces.

This is the Indian Army’s first-ever purchase order under the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) programme.

Armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs) can blend in with their surrounding terrain using Integrated Mobile Camouflage Systems (IMCS), which consists of low emissivity and/or CAM-IIR coatings and mobile camouflage system materials.

When viewed with a Hand Held Thermal Imager (HHTI)/Battle Field Surveillance Radar (BFSR) tank-based thermal camera under specific environmental and weather circumstances, it reduces the detection range of AFVs.

By regulating the object’s visual, thermal, infrared, and radar signatures, it manages signatures.

For AFVs, it will significantly improve their stealth capabilities.

Project for Defence Excellence (iDEX)

The government introduced the iDEX project in April 2018.

Aim: Through involving industries like as MSMEs, start-ups, individual innovators, R&D institutes, and academia, we may achieve self-reliance and stimulate innovation and technology development in defence and aerospace.
