Sultanpur National Park : Visit Of G20 Delegates

News: One of the 75 Ramsar sites in the nation, the Sultanpur National Park was recently visited by G20 members.

 

  • In Haryana’s Gurgaon district sits Sultanpur National Park, formerly known as Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary.
  • It covers 1.42 sq km and is primarily made up of wetlands.
  • A significant habitat for water birds, both migratory and resident, may be found in this national park.
  • In 2021, it was declared a Ramsar site, a wetland of international significance.
  • It pertains the chaTropical, dry deciduous vegetation.
  • Grasses, dhok, khair, tendu, ber, jamun, banyan tree, neem, berberis, Acacia nilotica, and Acacia tortilis are among the available plant species.
  • More than 320 different bird species have been identified in the park’s fauna.

Waterfowl use this area extensively for wintering.
