ULTRASAT : Israel’s First Space Telescope Mission

News: Early in 2026, NASA will launch the Ultraviolet Transient Astronomy Satellite (ULTRASAT), Israel’s first space telescope project.

 

  • ULTRASAT is an ultraviolet observatory with a wide field of vision that will look into the mysteries of brief cosmic occurrences including neutron star mergers and supernova explosions.
  • It will be launched into a geostationary orbit over the planet.
  • For ULTRASAT, NASA will be responsible for providing the launch opportunity, the Flight Payload Adapter, and other launch-related duties.
