First G20 Culture Group (CWG) Meeting

News: The First G20 Culture Group (CWG) Meeting will take place in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, from February 22 through February 25, 2023, according to the Ministry of Culture.

  • There will be four meetings for the working group, and they will take place in Hampi, Bhubaneshwar, and Khajuraho.
  • “Protection and Restitution of Cultural Property” is the meeting’s theme.
  • Ancient Khajuraho is renowned for its magnificent temples and ornate sculptures.
  • The Chandela Dynasty built the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, between 950 and 1050 AD.
  • These monuments are constructed using Nagara-style architecture, and they are decorated with elaborate sculptures.
  • There are Hindu and Jain monuments.
  • In the 12th century AD, there were 85 temples at the 20 square kilometre Khajuraho temple site, according to historical documents.
