News: Lithium reserves have been found in Jammu and Kashmir by the Indian Geological Survey. They were discovered in the Reasi neighbourhood. India is currently importing lithium from Argentina and Australia. Lithium prices soared by 400% in 2021 alone for a number of factors. They do not, however, produce the most lithium globally. 75% of the world’s lithium is made in China. China is in the refining business as opposed to the production one.

• Lithium is crucial for the creation of rechargeable batteries. Every modern electronic device we use, including electric cars, cellphones, computers, digital cameras, and other devices, needs lithium. They are the main electrical storage components.

• India will shortly hold an online auction for its lithium blocks. Heart pacemakers employ lithium as a component. It has a high energy to weight ratio while being a low density metal. Consequently, a very small amount of lithium can store a lot of energy. This characteristic of lithium makes the material perfect for storing electricity.
