PM PVTG Development Mission
News: The GoI is permitted to establish special arrangements for specific groups under Article 336 of the constitution. By means of this clause, the government established the ST category. But certain tribes in the nation prefer to live separately and in seclusion. The GoI-launched programmes do not provide social advantages to such tribes. The Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group is the name given to them. The GoI began the PM PVTG Development Mission during the 2023 Budget. The mission received an allotment of Rs 15,000 crore.
The PVTG will receive the following amenities thanks to the allotted funds:
- Sanitation
- Suitable Housing
- Health Access
- Getting into education
- Connectivity
- The socioeconomic situation of PVTG will be better.
- Additionally, the mission will offer the following facilities:
- clean water for drinking
- Increase public knowledge of wholesome food
- sustainable means of living
Benefits
- More than 3.5 lakh tribes in the nation will benefit from the programme, which will bring about reforms. The final comprehensive budget before the 2024 parliamentary elections is the one for 2023.
- Tribal development was the main emphasis of the majority of the programmes, social measures, and educational activities. Additionally, the majority of the plans aimed to build the local infrastructure in tribal communities.
