FITUR International Travel Exhibition

News: Five days of the FITUR travel expo are being hosted at the International Tourism Fair in Madrid, Spain. India took part in the display.

  • The tourism industry has seen a sharp decline since COVID. The countries’ loosened travel restrictions have the travel and tourism industry searching for ways to restock. India is going to the show to bring in more tourists.
  • Following COVID, about 42 million Indians employed in the tourism industry lost their jobs.
  • India is currently seeking for ways to grow its tourism industry. FITUR is one of the best opportunities as a result.
  • The first one was held in 1981. Each participating nation has its own pavilion during the expo. These pavilions will be used by the nations to display their tourist attractions.
  • At the exhibition, India is represented by the Ministry of Tourism. India has 253 square metres at the exhibition to display its attractions. Thirty other nations, including India, are taking part in the expo.
